#RevolutionNow: We have a thief in Aso Rock, we won't be cowed! — Protesters come hard on the President

It's DAY 2 of the reorganized #RevolutionNow and #FreeSowore protest currently taking place in the nation's capital, and the 10th day since the first protest was held last week.

The demand is still the same, and the current vigor and determination of the Civil Society groups gathered at the Unity Fountain in Abuja since Wednesday 14th, shows the protest is well oiled. But same can be said of the presidency as truckloads of security operatives comprising of military men, the police, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and officers of Nigerian Prison Service besieged the protesters.

The President who has been widely condemned for arrests and attacks on protesters last week, might want to act with caution especially when the words, "the Nigeria government should get ready to arrest more people, if that's what they are going to do. We will not keep quiet. We will keep talking. We will keep demanding our rights," comes to mind.

The statement quoted above was made by Aisha Yesufu well known for the Bring Back Our Girls protest. Same resolve was re-echoed by Deji Adeyanju who leads the current protest according to report by Daily Times. He said no amount of brute force used by the government will shake them even if all security operatives including the military where to be mobilized against them.

Adeyanju also came hard on the Buhari administration referring to the President as a thief who pretended be a repentant democrat, just because he wanted to steal the confidence and votes of Nigerians.

He said that both Sowore, Dadi Yata, Jones Abiri, Steven Kefas and other social and media critics who have been held by this present administration as prisoners of conscience, represent uncountable numbers of Nigerians who are victims of maladministration of the Buhari-led government in Nigeria.

Alongside Adeyanju is Raphael Adebayo who in similar fashion, said that even if Buhari should arrest more of Sowores, one million more would arise to fight his dictatorial policies, meant to muzzle the people’s freedom.

Adebayo stated that the protest is not just for the freedom of Sowore and other “prisoners of conscience,” but for the soul of Nigeria, which the present government wants to stampede at all cost.

Having obviously understood the style of the Buhari administration, it appears both the protesters and the security operatives will be in for a showdown should the Buhari administration refuse to yield to their demands.

It must also be noted that the world is watching what the truckloads of security personnels would do to protesters who already made clear their demands and won't be cowed by an arrogant presidency.
