Ekweremadu: Your bad leadership is turning Nigerians against their leaders — PDP tell Buhari

The People's Democratic Party (PDP), has condemned the recent attack against one of its own and immediate past Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu by IPOB. It said the attack is uncalled for and unjustifiable irrespective of the grievances IPOB might have against the misrule of the current Buhari administration.

Speaking through the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan earlier today Sunday 18th, 2019, the party said "It condemns, in its entirety, the attack on former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremmadu, by some Nigerians in Germany, at the weekend.

"The party insists that the attack on Senator Ekweremadu was uncalled for, unprovoked and cannot be justified under any guise whatsoever. The PDP added that such assault on a leader is completely unacceptable and does not portray our nation in proper light.

"The PDP therefore charges the Nigerian Ambassador to Germany as well as the German government to take appropriate decisive action on the matter.

The party then suggested in its statement, that the misrule of the Buhari administration might have pushed Nigerians to the point of resorting to attacking its leaders in a bid to express their displeasure against the plague of bad leadership in the country.

It said, "The party also urges the Federal Government, particularly, the National Assembly, to take urgent comprehensive step to address issues leading to acts of resentment and agitations by Nigerians within and outside the country in the last four years, under President Muhammadu Buhari’s misrule."
