Northern group insisting on Ruga are 'comical masquerades', says Shehu Sani

Senator Shehu Sani
Shehu Sani, the Senator who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th national assembly, has described Northern group who issued ultimatum to federal government for suspending Ruga initiative as "comical masquerades and Vendors of anarchy."

The Northern group under the aegis of Coalition of Northern Group (CNG) had issued a 30-day ultimatum to President Muhammadu Buhari, to implement the Ruga policy across the country, warning that the group will resort to a line of action after the ultimatum.

But reacting via his verified Twitter handle on Friday Sani said, "The ‘Northern group’ that issued ultimatum to the FG and quit notice to others are clownish and comical masquerades and Vendors of anarchy.
The proposed Ruga Settlement project by the Buhari administration is believed to be a major solution to the ongoing clashes between herdsmen and farmers in the country. But following uproar and rejection by states especially from the southern region of the country, the government decided to halt its plans hoping a better approach would convince Nigerians to welcome the initiative

The group accused Southern leaders of misrepresenting the Ruga project by making it seem as though the initiative is backed by evil intentions, hence the negative attitudes and condemnations by the people.
