The Election Petition Tribunal case between Atiku and Buhari continued today Friday 19th, 2019, with some interesting developments popping up.
And as you'd expect, alleged results from INEC's server took the center stage as a Kenyan based ICT expert took the witness stand.
David Ayu Nyango Njoga who is a petitioner’s witness, said on Friday that he retrieved the results of the 2019 presidential election from a server allegedly operated by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
According to Njoga, results of the February 23rd presidential election were stored in a server belonging and operated by the electoral body. He said his report of the election where gotten from the said server, and later analysed from a third party website: “www.factdontlieng.com”.
Claiming that the information was provided by an INEC official, Njoga informed the tribunal that the alleged INEC official acted as an anonymous person whom he referred to as a whistle-blower.
Njoga however, offered no response following discrepancies between the date he said the website belonging to the said whistle-blower was created, to the date the presidential election was conducted and results announced.
INEC was on Wednesday compelled by the Tribunal to honor requests for the production of the documents listed in the subpoenas served on them by the court’s registry, upon an application by the petitioners.
The electoral body INEC, had earlier denied Atiku's legal team access to electoral materials including card readers as the opposition party and its candidate Atiku Abubakar seek justice and retrieves what it calls a stolen mandate.
