Hold Buhari responsible for the loss of lives and clashes between IMN and Police — Sani

Senator Shehu Sani faults Buhari for IMN police clashes.
Argue all you want, but facts don't lie. That's exactly what Senate Shehu Sani appears to insinuate in his reaction to recent clashes between IMN and the Nigerian Security forces in the nation's capital.

Sani faults Buhari's refusal to obey court orders to release the Sect's leader Ibrahim Zakzaky, as the major cause of the needless crisis and clashes between security operations and the Islamic Movement.

Insecurity in the country is one of the major issues giving the Buhari administration a bad image since coming to office in 2015. What's more troubling is the fact that some of these security challenges are easily avoidable, but the ruling party seem to know more than we do, to not prevent these avoidable security challenges from becoming a national threat.

While it clearly appears that the recent detention of Zakzaky means a lot to the Buhari administration, many Nigerians are at a loss to what the country stands to gain from the illegal detection of the Islamic Movement's leader.

The needless clashes between the religious group and the Nigerian Police has cost the life of one Precious Owolabi, a young journalist who works for Channels TV. And the former Kaduna Senator believes the Buhari administration should be held accountable for the crisis caused by Zakzaky's detention.
He said, "A spade is called a spade and not a spoon; The Govt. is the causative agent of the needless crisis and clashes with the Islamic Movement. The detention of their leader and the persecution of their members and the disrespect for court orders is the real threat to peace and not the reverse."

Despite the recent clashes, it appears extremely unlikely that the Buhari administration will bow to pressure and release the Sect's leader. In fact, the president has threatened to use an iron fist against the protesters should they continue to cause problems in the capital. Groups like JIBWIS called on the Buhari administration not to treat Shi'ites with kid gloves.

If with all of these, you still actually expect Buhari to release Zakzaky, well you'll have to wait much longer.
