Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode |
He said that Nigeria is a secular state and nobody should be prevented from practicing his or her own religion of choice.
The former Minister warned that Nigeria has had enough crisis and shedding of innocent blood and would not want a replica of the Syrian war again.
He wrote, "You ban IMN and then you say that you are not banning the Shia Muslims from practising their faith?
"How would Buhari and the Sunni Muslims of Nigeria feel if JNI or SCIA were banned and labelled as terrorist organisations? What Buhari has done to IMN is petty, dangerous, shameful and unconstitutional.
"It is an attempt to stop the Shia from practising their faith and to demonise, terrorise, intimidate, scatter, outlaw and destroy them. Nigeria is a secular state and Buhari cannot stop ANYBODY from exercising his or her right to freedom of worship and association.
"We do not want a replica of the Syrian war in our country! Buharii, free El Zak Zaky and leave the Shia Muslims alone!
"The Shia Muslims have strong, battlehardened, war-tested, well-armed, well-motivated, well-funded, highly professional, functional, active, experienced standing armies and militias in Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen and Syria and a strong military presence all over the Middle East.
"This is what happens when an unrepentant Salafist and hard-line Islamist Wahabbi jihadist that is in the pocket and under the control of Saudi Arabia sits on the throne.
captured, conquered, subjugated, suppressed, deprived, denied, tormented, humiliated, discredited, maligned, broken, crushed and brought to his knees.
"Worse of all he has a pathological hatred and malevolent intentions for ALL those who dare to criticise or oppose him.
