Brazilian star fancies move to United, as Club seeks reinforcements

It is almost seven months since former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was sent packing following a season which seemingly got out of his control. He would later be replaced by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer whose initial impact wasn't enough to save United's season.

As the season progressed and positive results began to elude the English side under the new manager, it immediately dawn on Solskjaer that his current struggles is reminiscent of Mourinho's, and made it clear that significant changes are needed if the club must see good days again.

It does appears now that United are determined to address major issues raised by Mourinho as they shop for capable legs they hope would bolster the team ahead of their opening game against Chelsea in the coming season.

United already announced the signing of Daniel James from Swansea and are still hopeful a swap deal with Inter Milan would eventually click, paving way for Icardi, Skrinier, and Lukaku to swap sides.

The current United team truly needs work as noted by Mourinho throughout his time at United especially during  his second season at the club. But Fans are also quick to point out that the Portuguese tactician did made signings which turn out to be flops. Indeed, prior to the signing of Brazilian star Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk, Mourinho remarked that a club without a Brazilian player is incomplete. Mourinho may have said this as he seek to persuade the club to land one of his top targets in the summer of 2018. However, while he did got Fred, a player he truly wanted, it did appeared the powerful spell undermining the quality of the United team also caught up with him.

Fred's struggles to discover his feet in a United shirt earned him the flop initial and casts doubts on whether or not a Brazilian player suits the United way. But Fred's situation doesn't stop other Brazilian stars from wanting a move to one of the world's biggest club.

A new report says, Brazil and Gremio forward Everton has talked up a move to Manchester United by suggesting his playing style may suit the Premier League.

The 23-year-old scored a late stunner to seal Brazil's 3-0 win over Bolivia in Friday's Copa America opener, adding to Philippe Coutinho's brace.

Everton made his nine minutes on the field count at Estadio do Morumbi to further enhance his reputation as he cut inside from the left and sent the ball flying past Carlos Lampe.

And after opening his account for the Brazil senior side, Everton eyed up a move to a big European club, with Old Trafford a possible destination.

"I'm a player that's always trying to get on top [of the opposition]," he told the Daily Mail.

"Cutting in from the left with dribbles and good finishes - clubs in Europe have this style of play. Maybe I can fit in at Manchester United and others."

Everton, capped seven times by Brazil, has scored three goals for Gremio in the Copa Libertadores this season and seven times in the domestic league.

In this transfer season, stuff like this aren't new. Besides, who won't fancy a move to a big club? Everton has previously been linked with a move to Manchester City and AC Milan in recent months.
